Kortney's Part 2

Part II

  1. Describe some of the risks and benefits of the United States engineering a regime change in other countries. Use “Iran the Next Iraq”, “Argo” and the Upfront Article, “What’s the Deal with Iran” to help  defend your answer.

Kortney: A benefit of the U.S interfering with other countries is that we get supplies that that country has. In “Iran the Next Iraq” it states in 1908, oil was discovered in Iran…….U.S needing this product from the Middle East.” Showing that America needed oil from Iran and the U.S was trying to help out the country to get oil. A risk of the U.S interfering with other countries is that it could start conflict’s. In the movie ‘Argo’ the U.S helped the Shah by letting him get medical attention in the U.S causing Iranians to rebell and storm into the U.S embassy and took american hostages

  1. (Use #4 to help you answer this question) Should the United States get involved in other countries’ policies? Use all the articles you have and additional research to answer this question.

Kortney: I think that we should not get involved in other countries. In the movie “Argo” the U.S was protecting the Shah and let him enter the U.S. In result of the U.S protecting the Shah  U.S Iranians took American hostages from the U.S Embassy. Showing that when we interfered with Iran they rebelled and took hostages protesting give the Shah back to Iran.
